Snowgum Films
Happy New Year!

In wishing everyone a Happy New Year, we’d like to take this time to thank a few people who made such a fantastic year possible.

Thank you to our ever dedicated cast and crew whom are the very backbone of Snowgum. You’ve gone through ridiculous shooting conditions, hours worth of make-up, been pushed to exhaustion, had stupidly early starts, late finishes and working with no budget, almost been drowned, set on fire, had to ride a papier-mâché pegacorn bike in full armour, gone to war, survived, died, suffered heat exhaustion, suffered wind burn and dust and snow, suffered too many phone calls from Ahren and Daniel being grumpy, suffered constant date shifts and administration nightmares, being dropped off onto the sides of mountains and been forced to hang out the side of helicopters… and you did it all for the sake of the shot! If there is one thing we’re good at, at Snowgum, it’s finding awesome people to work with! Thank you!

Thank you to our Troll Bridge backers and supporters for helping us create the unimaginable without the assistance of Hollywood… for showing the world the power of the democratic dollar, for sharing your equipment and skills with us, and believing in a bunch of film nerds from Melbourne!

And thank you to our audience, for watching, liking, and sharing the stuff we make for you all. Without an audience, there would be no reason for Snowgum to exists at all. We’re stoked you it. :)

Happy New Year, one and all!

Snowgumathlon 2011 Awards

ach year at the Snowgumathlon, we endeavour to hand out some awards to people who we think went well beyond any possible expectation.  This year was no exception.

The Iron Fan Awards were handed out to Trevor Falke and Damian Hockey for regularly contribution to our news serial (in the case of Trevor), and in going to extraordinary lengths to pimp our Troll Bridge Kickstarter campaign (in the case of Damien).  A sincere thanks from us here guys – be sure to get in touch with us with your address so we can post these trophies off to you!

The Balls of Steel Award went to Tim Egan (for hanging outside a helicopter whilst traversing sideways down a chasm), and to Don Bridges (for wearing little more than leather underpants in extreme conditions of wind and ice)!  We here at Snowgum salute such insanity in the name of art!  We hope you both enjoy your balls of steel as much as we did admiring them on the night!

The Outstanding Contribution Awards went to Troy Larkin and Daniel Yun.  Both actor and Director of Photography respectively have been involved on a countless number of our projects over the years, and have more than left their mark and distinctive style on the canvas that is Snowgum.  Thank you both so much for embarking on so many journeys with us!  Let us hope there are still a few more left!

Huge thanks also goes out to all the people who attended, and to the filmmakers who put content up for screening!  And of course to Barrington – who was recently resurrected by the Trampese!

Here’s to many more years!
